Each week fourth and fifth graders at Albion Grade School have the chance to look up a research question and submit their answers.  One lucky winner is drawn each week!

 This year the focus is on geography.  So grab an atlas and join us!

Week #4: Congratulations to Callie Meserole of Mrs. Robinson's class, who correctly answered the question, "Which country is located to the east of Alaska?"  Callie was one of 15 students to correctly identify that Canada is to the east of Alaska.

Week #3: Congratulations to Luke Sweeny of Mrs. Robinson's class, who correctly answered the question, "If you sail south from Miami, Florida, which country will you reach?"  Luke was one of only 3 students to correctly identify that Cuba is south of Miami, Florida.

Weeks #1-2 no questions due to snow days.

Week #8: Congratulations to Quincie Borowiak of Mrs. Murbarger's Class, who correctly answered the question, "In what state does the Mississippi River begin?"  Quincie was one of 13 students to correctly identify that Minnesota was the correct answer.

Week #7: Congratulations to Isaac Shepherd of Ms Weiler's class, who correctly answered the question, "Which mountain range runs from Montana to New Mexico?" Isaac was one of 10 students to correctly identify that the Rockies was the correct answer.

Week #6: Congratulations to Torrie Smith of Mrs. Murbarger's class, who correctly answered the question, "Which mountain range runs from Maine to Georgia?" Torrie was one of 7 students to correctly identify that the Appalachian range runs from Maine to Georgia.

Week #5: Congratulations to Emily Pittman of Mrs. Robinson's class, who correctly answered the question, "What is the most southern state of the United States?"  Emily was one of 17 students to correctly identify that Hawaii is the most southern state.

Week#4: Congratulations to Carissa Jefferson of Mrs. Robinson's class, who correctly answered the question, "What is the most northern state of the the United States?"  Carissa was one of 14 students to correctly identify that Alaska is the most northern state.

Week #3: Congratulations to Kaylie Potter of Ms Weiler's class, who correctly answered the question, "What is the most western state of the United States?"  Kaylie was one of 9 students to correctly identify that Hawaii is the western most state.

Week #2 (Second Quarter)  Congratulations to Noah Sweeny of Mrs. Murbarger's Class, who correctly answered the question, "What is the most eastern state of the United States?"  Noah was one of 6 students to correctly identify that Maine is the eastern most state.

Week #9 Congratulations to Madison Harris of Mrs. Murbarger's Class, who correctly answered the question, "How many active volcanoes are located in Hawaii?"  Madison was one of 13 students to correctly identify that there are 54 active volcanoes.

Week #8 Congratulations to Lily Hayes of Mrs. Murbarger's Class, who correctly answerd the question, "How tall is Ayers Rock in Australia?"  Lily was one of 14 students to correctly identify the height of Ayers Rock as 1142 feet.

Week #7 Congratulations to Ashlee Effler of Ms Weiler's Class, who correctly answered the question, " What is the area of Brazil?"  Ashlee was one of 8 students to correctly identify the area of Brazil as 3,286,472 sq. miles.

Week #6 Congratulations to Ty Schmittler of Mrs. Murbarger's 5th grade class, who correctly answered the question, "Which United State is divided by one of the great lakes?"   Ty was one of 7 students to correctly identify the state as Michigan.

Week #5 Congratulations to Kayla Thompson of Mrs. Benham's 4th grade class, who correctly answered the question, "What is the capital of Maine?"  Kayla was one of 20 students to correctly identify Augusta as the state capital of Maine.

Week #4 Congratulations to Sage Alka of Mrs. Robinson's 4th grade class, who correctly answered the question, "Which state has the longest border with Mexico?"   Sage was one of 8 students to correctly identify Texas as the state with the longest border with Mexico.
